Who can drive a Cruising Cruiser?
a) Driving Licence
To drive our vehicles, you will require a current driving license that has been valid for at least 5 years.
You will also need to be at least 25 years old.
b) Driving Experience
If you are not experienced in driving four wheel drive manual transmission vehicles, we suggest you hire the vehicle for one day to practice in the local area with an instructor, before committing yourself to a self drive safari.
What will it cost ?
Depending on what you require, basic costs for hiring a vehicle will include, but may not be restricted to, the following:
a) Daily hire fee
Hire rates are charged per day (each 24 hour period or part thereof).
Basic rates are USD $80 for short wheel base Land Cruisers (fits 1 or 2 people), USD $ 100 for three quarter length Land Cruisers (fits up to 4 people)
and USD $ 130 to $ 150 for long wheel base Land Cruisers (fits up to 7 people).
Discounts are negotiable for hire periods over 2 weeks.
b) Repairs Deposit
You will be required to pay a cash deposit of 40,000/- Kenyan Shillings against any damage you may inflict on the vehicle during the hire period. This applies to damage caused by irresponsible or careless use of the vehicle and not to that resulting from normal wear and tear. When you return the vehicle it will be assessed for such damage and you will receive the deposit back, less the cost of any relevant repairs.
c) Delivery and / or collection fee
A fee shall be charged should you require Cruising Cruisers Ltd to deliver a vehicle to, or collect a vehicle from, a location other that the Cruising Cruisers office. Such fee will depend on the location and shall be agreed upon by both parties before the contract is signed.
d) Shopping
Provided you give clear instructions and a shopping list, we can arrange to have shopping for food and basic necessities for your safari done for you in advance. A 15% charge on the total value of the goods purchased shall be applied.
e) Fuel
You are responsible for paying for fuel required for your safari.
What insurance cover is provided?
Cruising Cruisers are insured for third party and passengers only.
If you require insurance for personal possessions and / or medical coverage, you must arrange these for yourself. |
